I cannot help but think of Lola's work as the painted and girlier version of Scott Radke. The faces just look so much alike. Even though it has lots and lots of cute elements, all her pieces make a very very dark world. By looking at these I do not sense any sort of friendliness, but I am very much intrigued. (And I do adore the little creature in the boat of the last painting!)
