We've had some serious rain recently. Days like that make me want to light a candle and sit down with a journal. Journaling has been my new go-to pastime. As a blogger it makes sense to love it. It's a bit like blogging for yourself. Or perhaps blogs are just public journals. Either way, it seems that working on either one inspires the other too.

What have you been up to lately? Any new hobbies? Or… any pretty new notebooks?

Owl Things Considered

This may come as a surprise, but I don't have any animal shoes. Not even owls. I can't complain as I love my Docs, but I wouldn't turn down a comfortable pair if I found one. Perhaps something similar to these owls from Modcloth.

At the bottom of the page I spotted these fabulously elegant bunnies. Now those… I'd almost kill for those. And I think I'd have to as I am definitely not paying $274,99 for them. Unless I win a lottery, I'll just admire them online.

But those aren't even my faves from their current collection. I just adore these sky blue flats! They are very reminiscent of Oxfords, yet they are a lot more feminine. And thankfully a lot more affordable than the bunnies.

I know, they're the odd ones out in this post, but they were too cute not too add. And I'm sure you don't mind either.

Now I'm not one for incredibly high heels, and not often one for wedges either. But I fell head over heels with these cat shoes from ModCloth. So cute! And that color? Wow.

 Aren't they spectacular? If only you could walk in them... I'm definitely keeping my eyes open for a flatter version.

I love cute cat items! Did you find any nice feline merchandise lately? Or any other animals? I mean, all day-to-day items can be improved with a bit of an animal-touch, right?

Galaxy prints are getting pretty big. I love it! Though I can't say I have a lot things in the nebula department.

Lovely latest additions

Lately I've been loving brooches and a little while back I bought some really pretty ones from tevagallery. There was a 2 for 1 deal, so I picked the cat you might remember from this post, and this amazing owl.

Apart from it being stunning it matches really my new autumn wardrobe so well!

A few weeks ago I got 25% discount on everything at H&M and I really did take advantage of that. You will probably see this cardigan again as I adore it. The brown/gray color is so beautiful and it also matches mustard really well, which I always thought was a lovely color but one that's very hard to match and wear in general.

And I recently bought me some high-heeled boots too! I hardly ever walk on heels(except for dance classes), but these seemed nice and sturdy, and completely won me over. I still prefer to walk on sneakers, but as far as heels go these are very walkable. And I love that they're both kick-ass and elegant. I was looking for something like this, so when I not only found them, but found them on sale, I was over the moon.

You might recongnize this screenshot from the video assignment I had in art school. It's my pair of H&M Dr.Martens look-a-likes. (I would've taken a decent picture had it not been almost midnight.)

I had seen them in store and always thought they were quite funny, little did I know that I would actually get a pair when they were on sale. So a few weeks later they were mine and I've grown very fond of them. So fond that I might someday go for the real deal.

Only downside is no zippers. I love that my fake ones have them because it's so much quicker.

However the variety in designs might outweigh that, from kick-ass pairs to cute florals. This one appeals to me because I like to wear purple and even have a purple leopard print shirt.

This next one is a design I wouldn't buy, but since they're cool and funny I thought I'd post them anyway.

Playing guitar myself and having gone through a black/pink phase, these caught my eye.

As you know I'm afraid to wear my "good" clothes when I'm painting. The same goes for shoes, so maybe I should get a pair of these.

Like the Dr.Martens designs my own style tends to switch quite often, it's not that I really grow out of phases, it's just that I wear what I feel like. Sometimes a cute dress, sometimes my new studded jeans and sometimes a basic outfit in just one lovely color. But preferably always with a nice pair of comfortable and gorgeous shoes.

Wishlist

I would kill for a pair of Blowfish shoes. Sadly I haven't been able to find them anywhere. I know one store where they might have them, or at least if they don't have them there they're probably not available where I live. But I'm not ready to give up the search yet. As you might have guessed they are pretty high on my wishlist.

Personally I love the grey/purple or black/purple shoes, but there are a lot of different styles and colors. From more serene to bright red plaid.

Their hobbit booties are probably the best known and definately my favorite, although I think they have some amazing flats as well.

If you're in love at first sight too I hope you have better luck in finding them than I do!
