Wishlist

The Furby is back! It might have seemed like it was a thing of the past, but they're releasing a new -and  refurbished hehe- version next week.

And this batch has so many more cool abilities than the last one. You can actually create its personality! Which is fun when you have one, but even better when you put two together.

When you have a smartphone or tablet you can feed it by sliding food toward it and... it even has a translator from English to Furbish! So if your Furby says something to you, you'll get the English translation and vice versa.

Yes, I should probably have outgrown these sorts of things a while back, but these guys are pretty hard to resist, aren't they?

Owl Things Considered

This owl speaker is just perfect! So cute and I'm guessing it might even be able to move it's wings. It's an affordable little fellow as well, apparently only $14,99!

Wishlist: Dumbphone

Smartphones are the nr. 1 gadget right now, it looks like the majority has one. Though I have to admit it might come in handy, I also get a bit annoyed sometimes(especially at concerts) because people are constantly stuck to their phones.

So when I heard about the "dumphone" I got very interested.

It's so cute and simple. You only have the necessary buttons and...tah dah... it has a little address book in the back. Also, it comes in pink!

I actually saw one on sale a little while back, but thought it was still a bit too expensive for such a simple item. Besides, you can't text on it and I think that might cause problems when people are trying to reach you. But still...a girl can dream. And maybe one day.

My Christmas Wishlist

Over the past few weeks I've seen so many amazing things online. Since it's December today, I thought I'd put them all together in a Christmas wishlist.

Superheadz cameras have been on my wishlist for a long long time. All the colors are lovely, but I have to say this Light Blue Kumo San is definitely my favorite.

I've been looking at index stamps like these, seems so handy to use in my diary. And it looks adorable too.

I don't think I've ever seen sewing pins as cute as these, have you?

It's nice to have a little speaker for your MP3 player, I know there are some fun ones out there, but non can beat these tiny wooden ones.

I've never had a satchel in my life, I think it's time to change that.

Practical owls are awesome! I love that you could even keep track of 2 time zones on this watch necklace.

And as it's time for sweaters!
You can even get santa hat pins to pin all the little kittens, these sweaters are the best find ever!

Too bad Lush can be so expensive. I think I'll keep my eyes open to see if there are any after Christmas sales I can snatch this up. But I'd settle for the "Little Green Bag";)

I've been eyeing these cuties for a while now.

I just can't resist quirky things like this.

I love this set of amazing 6 pairs of earrings!

What do you have on yours?

Julia's Freebie Calendar

Julia has been so kind to make you guys a downloadable desktop calendar for November!

I can tell you from personal experience that it looks great on your desktop, especially on iMacs. She has made it elegant, yet simple enough to still keep track of all your folders, isn't that great?!

-Click to have it expand, and then save it to your computer-

Be sure to visit Julia's blog A Girl with Horn-Rimmed Glasses, where she posts lots of amazing finds, great movie tips and just overall lovely updates. She bakes the most amazing macarons! They are tricky to make, so this really is an amazing talent. And she happens to have both a nail polish and tv-show addiction too.
Also, since she's a design student, everything on her blog looks great. Go check it out!

Well here's something I didn't expect to exist. An owl security camera!

Don't they look cute? They come in silver too by the way.

The DS Post

When I mentioned my Nintendo DS a few days ago I got some comments asking me about what games I had bought. I thought this would be a good time to do a post on DS games and share what I've been playing lately, as well as my all time favorite games.

As always I'm pretty much all over the place and my collection ranges from Tinkerbell to Grand Theft Auto.
I just get what seems fun, or sometimes what's on sale.
It's been a good season for games, as I found a bunch of affordable ones. Amongst them is Docomodake.

It's a fun and easy to play game, although I think it might be very short too, but I'm not sure yet.

Another one I recently got is the Michael Jackson Experience.
To be honest I didn't expect much, but was very pleasantly surprised. It is fun and very well made. You basically just tap the rhythm to the songs to make an animated Michael Jackson dance. It has 12 songs, but is still a bit of a challenge, especially if you want to get perfect high scores.
I definitely recommend it if you are a fan of Michael(, and like me love to play games such as Guitar Hero,) and I think he himself would've loved to have seen this.

I also like to hunt down really really cheap gameboy advance games. They can be played on DS and some are amazing. One of my most recent favorites, which I got for 3 bucks, is Charlotte's Web. The graphics are pretty cool, the game is awesome and the mini-games are super addicting.

Now onto the older favorites, first off Ecolis. This is a very cute and entertaining game in which you build an army of squirrels and beavers to save the forest.

I love Tinkerbell and also love the game. The first that is. It is fun and can be played into infinity, you can just keep playing the mini games and quests and keep collecting and designing outfits. The second game wasn't as good because it does have an end(and very early on). Still I'm putting the latest one on my Christmas Wishlist.

Also on my wishlist, of course, is the DS game made after Legend of the Guardians: the Owls of Ga'Hoole. I'm a bit afraid it won't be that good, or that I won't understand it (I have this strange habit of not having a clue how to get through games that are rated 3 and older, I've been known to get stuck in the first level), but how could I not get that game?! I mean it's the only merch I've seen of the movie.

Also I'd love to have the Sims 3 for DS. I haven't been able to play the Sims for years, because it doesn't work of either of my computers. So when I heard it was being released for DS I became very excited.

So that's about it: my latest acquisitions, favorites and Christmas Wishlist. So how about you? Any games you think I should try? What are your faves? And what are the ones you are dying to get? I'd love to hear about it and get a few tips.

Keeping warm... or trying to

It is cold. And when I say cold, I really mean freezing, snowing, seriously cold. Even indoors we can't seem to keep the house nearly warm enough. However there are a few things that make it somewhat manageable. Here's my little list:

My cat.
Nothing as comforting as a warm and furry little creature. Too bad she spends way more time on the heater than on my lap. Can't blame her though, I can hardly compete with that.

Tea.
I'm a really big tea drinker, don't go a single day without it. But this winter I am breaking all records.

Warm scarf.
This lovely scarf was made by a friend of mine. Ever since it's been snowing it's been around my neck from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to bed.

The ultimate rescue.
My feet are always cold so you can imagine it's near to impossible to keep them warm this time of year. However I noticed this "foot bag" in a folder and just had to have it. I was a bit afraid it wouldn't work or be practical, but let me tell you... it is the best thing I have ever bought and I am infinitely grateful to have it at my feet right now.

Due to the cold I haven't been active online at all. Somehow the desk is one of the coldest places in the house so I try to avoid it as best I can. But I'll try to keep my blogging up despite this all.
With this lack of internet I found entertainment in other gadgets and things that you can actually use while you're wrapped up in a "foot bag", "Snuggie"and numerous blankets. Such as:

Nintendo DS.
I've always enjoyed it, but never really got into it as much as now. I've been particularly busy solving murders and building hotels. Believe it or not I actually feel like I'm achieving something here;)

Books.
Before I go to sleep I love to read a few pages, or sometimes a bit more because I just can't help myself. The combination of a snow white world and Murakami's books makes me feel like I'm living in a dream world.

Seeing this you may get the impression that I haven't done anything, but with the holidays getting closer and closer I've been really busy with orders too.
Including my largest one so far, 20 bookmarks!

They had to be finished in a really short time because of Christmas. I am still getting Christmas orders as time is running out, especially people outside of Europe should place their orders this weekend, if they want to be absolutely sure it will arrive before the 25th.

So what have you been up to? Did you go into hibernation like me? Any tips to keep warm?

Owl Things Considered

You've probably all heard about the cool owl movie that's being released later this month: "Legend of the Guardians: the Owls of Ga'Hoole". I don't actually want to discuss the movie right now, but I will post about it later when I've actually seen it. And if there's going to be a lot of merchandise made, I'm sure there will be many more posts on the matter.

When I first saw the movie trailer I wouldn't have guessed it was derived from a series of books. I know it's a children's series but the covers got me so excited I might actually give it a go. Have you seen the amazing cover art?!

What's also very cool, although a bit useless, are these "playaway" audiobooks, a preloaded mp3 player with the awesome cover printed on the front. If you want to read the whole series this would get really expensive really quick, and it's such a waste that it only holds so little (although it would be cool if you could load more onto it...). But if they ever were to make iPods with owl print I'd be the first in line.

P.S. Another US/Canada giveaway coming very soon.

200th Post

Apart from this being the first post written on my very own MacBook, it is also my 200th blog post. So I have two reasons to be excited!
It made sense to post some pictures of this latest acquisition.

Since I need to take this laptop to school a laptop cover was a necessity. And I happened to come across a very cute one that also happened to be one of the cheapest ones they had. It even matches a pair headphones I have.

As of today I pretty much installed everything that needed installing, not everything is working properly though. There seems to be a problem with the transfer from my camera, I already have a dead pixel and the whole computer spontaneously overheated while being turned off yesterday.

I really hope things will get better after this, but at least it's working and I have a very cute wallpaper installed. Fur Girl by Mark Ryden, which is one of my absolute favorite paintings. I even have plans for "Furring" up my iPod too. But more on that later...

Just a Little Update + Announcement

Today was a great day. After working on an order and cleaning the living room, I went to the city center. My mom had this plan to buy a cell phone and I ended up getting one too. It's not as pretty as my current one, but it has a mp3 player, camera and a few other options. And it may or may not have had to do with the fact that it only cost us a little over 2 euros(yes, really 2 euros) since it was a prepaid pack with lots of included prepaid cards. You basically spend the rest of the money on cards you'd be buying anyway. Good deal, right?

Other than that I just made another Treasury, you can view the real deal here.

Now onto the announcement. I will be doing a celebratory giveaway after I've been admitted into art school. Think positive:)
Admissions being next week I think the giveaway will be somewhere within one or two weeks after that. So far it consist of two very cute items, one handmade by yours truly, the other one store bought. I might add a little something later on though.
