For Your Next Project: The Unusual Pear

My absolute favorite thing in the world is crafting (I'd even pick it over chocolate!), so I thought, why not blog about some amazing shops that sell beautiful supplies that can either up your crafting game or help you start a new hobby.

I'd like to kick this new series off with a shop called The Unusual Pear. It's a magical shop full of everything you need to make woven wall hangings. So that means tons of looms! And in lots of different shapes and sizes too. Also, I love that they are all flat, which means they take up extremely little space when stored. Clever, very clever indeed!

If you want to make a wall hanging absolutely from scratch, you can add an extra step and spin your own yarn with their roving and spindles. If not, you can buy your hand dyed/hand spun yarn at The Unusual Pear as well.

As I think I have two basic square looms somewhere in my mom's attic, I'm personally especially intrigued by the round looms and the adorable tiny ones! Also, I just wanted to add that all the looms and spindles are made of certified bamboo, so you can craft to your hearts desire without killing trees, yay! This shop looks fantastic!

Beautiful Brooch + Sale Tip

A few years back I ordered a beautiful brooch from an amazing blog shop called Vestida de Domingo. I was in awe of the mixed media technique combined with the details of the miniature portraits and the personalities it captured.

One of the reasons I picked the above brooch was that I had just designed and made myself a sweater that looked very much like the one in the portrait. And they look perfect worn together! I'll do a separate post on that in the winter!

As you can see it was an absolute treat to receive in the mail! It came with a handmade box and an amazing drawing that still makes me happy everytime I look at it.

Anyway, I'm so happy to say that Vestida de Domingo is still up and running and full of beautiful pieces! In fact, there is currently a sale going on with lots of beautiful brooches and necklaces, a lot of which are currently 50% off.

This is just a selection of what is still available. There are so many gorgeous brooches and necklaces! Some with painting and felt or crochet, others entirely crocheted and then there are necklaces that are painted on both sides!

So I suggest you visit the beautiful shop and take a look around. It might be hard to choose from all these gorgeous pieces, but I'm sure you'll find something beautiful to add to your wardrobe. I actually ended up picking three...

Wishlist

I am smitten with these adorable miniature forests by brother-sister team 2of2. They look so soft and dreamlike, and of course it helps that most of them perfectly match the color scheme I had in mind for my new place!

And I think that -especially living in the city- it is good to have some things in your home that remind you of nature.

But 2of2 has some other lovely items as well. Like this intriguing iridescent home, that switches between bright neon and light and ethereal depending on how the light hits it.

And there are even a few adorable pocket sized monsters for sale!

Visit the shop to see their entire collection! And if you're as hooked on Pinterest as I am, you might want to follow them there too. Enjoy!

Wishlist

Konokoshop has some of the cutest things! So instead of just one item, I thought I'd show you a whole bunch.

This mug is cuter to store that in is to use. Perhaps odd, but very appealing nonetheless!

I know you usually want to keep mice away from your food, but aren't these salt and pepper shakers adorable?
And the final food-related item: Pocky chopsticks. Such a clever idea!
They also sell lots of these coin purses. This is the koala of course, but the others are worth checking out too!
What did I tell you? Cute shop, right? Click here to see even more.

If you know Kate from Scathingly Brilliant, you might also know she has a bunch of adorable shops. I recently spotted some items in her "Sweet and Lovely" shop, that really are sweet and lovely.

These rainbow sweater clips for instance. I absolutely love this idea!

And this is one of the best collars I've ever seen. It might not be for every day, but I suppose special things should be saved for special occasions, right?

And up last is this lovely simple cat brooch. Don't you love that color? I just finished knitting a dress -pictures coming soon- in that exact shade. So I think they'd be a perfect match!

Amazing accessories, right? Click here to see more.

In the mail...

A while back I was lucky enough to win a very big giveaway on Polly's lovely blog! I've waited with this post until I got pretty much all of the prizes in the mail, here we go!

Polly was kind enough to give me $20 shop credit, I picked the necklace and owl earrings below. They came in the cutest packaging along with a beautiful matryoshka card.

The first parcel came from Lara, who also has a talent for gift wrapping and picking cards.

She made me one of her lovely coin purses that she normally sells on her Etsy.

Eline was kind enough to offer these earrings from her shop.

Margot also offered a $20 gift certificate for her shop. I chose two packs of beautiful boot beanies. They basically make sure your shoes stay as fresh as possible, and they look very cute too in their special pouches.

Gillian sent me these two heart pins, that are also still available in her shop by the way.

And I also received a jewelry set from La Chic Unique.

There was also a 50% of coupon for Dragonflight Dreams and I'm also awaiting one final item.

So that's it for the pictures, but I also got ad space on the following blogs:

And a free meditation download from Discover Your Dance.

Not bad right? Not bad at all!
