Though I have lots of other posts planned on my trip to Singapore, I thought I'd start by giving you an impression of what it's like over there. Enjoy!
One of the first things that sprang to mind when I first heard "Singapore" was architecture and skyscrapers. And it was quite surreal to see all the buildings there.
But there's also lots of nature to be found. This was the view from our room and it perfectly combined both the tropical and the urban.
I'm not exaggerating when I call this place paradise. I mean the pigeons are in rainbow and even the bird crap is orange.
And they happen to have a pastel McDonald's!
I stuck to more local cuisine though, along with some tasty treats from the Japanese supermarket.
I really enjoyed seeing lots and lots of green. Being a city girl and nature freak all at once, I felt right at home.
Singapore is pretty at night too. All buildings are beautifully lit and there's a stunning light show twice a night.
On my birthday I got to go on a helicopter. And though I wasn't allowed to take any pictures there, I can show you this nice shot I took from a building.
I also got a lovely chocolate cake and a nice dinner with my family. The band even sang me "Happy Birthday"!
What an amazing place to visit! Yes, please do keep sharing more about it! ;)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
This post makes me giddy! My husband is from Singapore, and we went there last July. I loved all of your photos, especially because I recognize a lot of the places! Glad you had a good time! :)

So jealous - but in a good way!! Makes me want to get over there. It's been a place I've wanted to visit for some time. Thanks for the extra motivation!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to go someday soon! It's truly a wonderful place to visit. Combines all the best countries of Asia, but in a nice and clean package;)
