This is something I've wanted for ages. I took a workshop because I thought it would be complicated, but it was a lot easier than I expected.
I also made a bigger project, a bird, but I have yet to sew its eyes on. I'll show you soon, in the meantime there's a smaller bird project below.

Have you picked up any new hobbies recently?
I REALLY want to learn how to do this. Did you find a tutorial online?
ReplyDeleteNo, I actually took a workshop. But I'm sure there are loads of tutorials online too. Though it might be wisest to buy a starter's kit with instructions somewhere.
DeleteI have always wanted to learn to do this, I remember finding a book about it when I was at art college and I totally fell in love with how cute they are. I've recently (re)taken up crocheting, I'm on a total roll with it! The ladybug is super cute :)

Oh wow that's so cute! I love the bird! It's so precious! I'm so scatter-brained when it comes to hobbies, there are like five that I started as a summer project but I kinda want to add this to the list also haha :)

I love your felted ladybug. So cute. I love the notion of needle felting. Have you by chance seen the Martha Stewert clip of her needle felting circles onto a woolen baby blanket? I came upon it when I began felting a wool blanket by washing it in detergent and drying in the dryer. I've done two cycles so far and that scratchy blanket is way softer than it was. But I aim to get it more so.

What a gorgeous little critter.....lady bug?
ReplyDeleteI've always looked at this as a craft from a distance - I think I'm too scared of stabbing myself in the fingers with those stabby things - that sounds daft....doesn't it - sorry.

Not at all! I was a bit too, and I did hurt myself a tiny bit too, but as long as you concentrate all will work out fine;)
DeleteHow awesome! The lady bug is just too cute. What a fun hobby :]
ReplyDeleteoh the lady bug is divine....it looks so neat! Whenever I have done (attempted) needle felting I've just made a big mess! x
