As usual I was browsing one of my favorite websites, it's basically our national Amazon.com. That's when I spotted this amazing looking cd!
It turned out to be Eefje de Visser's first cd. Her break came when she won a national music competition for young and unknown musicians, and it just so happens that I was at that very competition. I recalled liking it a lot, and the owls just won me over so I ordered the cd.
It arrived today and I've already listened to it 3 times. It takes a little getting used to, because it is very unique and unlike other Dutch music I've ever heard. But it's a great cd! She reminds me a bit of Laura Marling and Corinne Bailey Rae. If you like those, can handle a little experimental stuff and don't mind listening to a language you probably won't understand, you should definitely give it a go.
Somehow I've chosen some more electronical songs for you today, but she has a lot of more "singer/songwriter stuff" too.
There's one song I'm missing on the cd. It's lovely, but somehow it isn't on there:
She's even done one collaboration with a rapper. Don't worry, it's a very mellow song and I love it!
