Thrift Shop

If this song even made it to our tiny country, I imagine it must already be a massive hit worldwide. Either way, I still have to post it. If you can stomach a tiny bit of nasty language, definitely do watch this awesome thrift shop rap.

I love how this song is the complete opposite of all other rap songs about money. Of course everyone loves a good bargain, but who knew rap stars could have so much in common with bloggers like us?

When I first heard Macklemore I knew he was very promising, but he still blew my mind with this catchy tune. I can't wait to see what might come next. If he stays on this track it might even start to involve owls!

    1. Haha, yeah, it doesn't really bother me either. But I thought I'd give a heads up anyway, I mean, I'm not exactly known to drop an F-bomb on my blog, right?

  2. yess I love how they did a rap about something else than going to the club, getting it on, drinking, etc. They had a concert at my school and everyone was sooo excited!

  3. I really like it! Before ever hearing it, I read this article in The Observer on Sunday, linking the song's popularity to British "student drinking culture":

Cheap Lyrics for Cheap Nights Out

It made it sound really tacky and put me off, but I think the author has got it totally wrong! Looking forward to the owls song, and of course the craft one ;)

    1. Wow, haha. I'm pretty sure Sheldon Cooper wrote it;) He completely missed the fact that this song is pretty much satire. And he misread about everything else too haha.

Anyway, thanks for the link! I really enjoyed reading the comments below the article as well. It even led me to some other unexpected songs. I didn't know Macklemore had made a song about (and pro) gay marriage for instance. Seems like he DOES get cooler every day.

  6. Ahhhh how I love Macklemore!! I've loved Irish Celebration (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29UMACdfyZw) for a while but I honestly didn't know Thrift Shop was by him! He's definitely an awesome guy. Not hard on the eyes either ;P
